TRIP
INFORMATION

A special ski trip has been planned to Peek ‘N Peak in western New York for Sunday, February 17th.   This will be the club's ONLY trip to New York this year.

The cost of the trip will range between $72 and $104.  It will depend on age and the rental equipment needed. Skiers 11 years old and under will pay a lower price.

Round trip transportation on a charter bus, equipped with a rest room, will be $40. This trip is not for beginners with no ski  or snowboard experience. No beginner packages with lessons will be offered.  However, if you have had a few club lessons at Boston Mills you are permitted go.  Beginners should stay on the green hills and all skiers and riders should only go on hills that are within their ability.  The slopes are much longer and steeper than Boston Mills. They are spread out over an area that is 5 times large than Boston Mills, with only 2 (GREEN) easier beginning hills, 15 more difficult hills (BLUE AND DARK BLUE), and 5 very difficuly hills (BLACK AND BLACK DIAMOND).

WARNING

Parents, you know your kids.  They should be able to use good judgemnent and be responsible enough to stay only on the open hills that are within their ability. They should ALWAYS be on the hills with a friend, who can get help if their is an accident.  They should NEVER go off the trailes and ski in the wooded areas where it is dangerous in many ways, and where there is no supervision from the ski patrol.  Supervision will be as usual on the bus; however, the lift tickets will not be color coded as they are at Boston Mills and there will be NO SUPERVISION BY THE CLUB ADVISORS ON THE HILLS. The students will be on their own for most of the day.

BUS TIMES
AND STOPS

We will leave from the Elyria Catholic parking lot (in front of the practice field) at 6:30 AM.   The trip will take about four hours and we will ski for about eight hours, from about 10:00 AM. to 6:00 PM. Lunches and snacks can be  purchased at the ski lodge, or a bag lunch can be brought and eaten when desired.  On the way there and on the way back we will stop at the Erie McDonald’s for breakfast and dinner.  We expect the bus to arrive back at  Elyria Catholic at 9:45 PM.
